Sylvia Jeffreys And Today Show SLAMMED Over Strange Segment

Sylvia Jeffrey’s is coming under a little bit of fire on news.com.au this morning.

On yesterday’s today show, her brother Aaron’s dumpling restaurant Harajuki Gyoza was featured on the show for the third time in two years.

The segment was called ‘Food Trends’ with Karl Stefanovic giving the menu at the restaurant a serious bit of love.

“Japan is going absolutely gangbusters over pancake souffle with mouth-watering toast sensations that I taste- tested last night at Harajuku Gyoza,” Stefanovic said.

“They are the hardest things to get your hands on in Australia right now.”

Co-host Lisa Wilkinson did point out the personal connection once, saying “I think these have come direct from the fabulous Sylvia Jeffrey’s brother Andrew’s restaurant,”

However, according to news.com.au, there was no mention of the affiliation on the shows Instagram page.

Sylvia, who was on the show yesterday, took Channel 9 cameras to his restaurant in Brisbane for a 3minute segment last year and in July 2015, the restaurant also featured on an episode when they were in the city.

It is expected, if the segment was paid for, it would have cost $100,000.
