Australia Day Activists Plan Protest Outside 'Studio 10' HQ
Australia Day activists disgusted by Kerri-Anne Kennerley's recent comments about sexual abuse in outback Aboriginal communities have planned a protest outside Channel 10's Sydney office.
The daytime queen claimed Invasion Day protesters were ignorant of Aboriginal women and children 'being raped' in the outback.
Kennerley asked the panel: "Has any single one of those people been out to the Outback, where children, babies, five-year-olds, are being raped? Their mothers are being raped, their sisters are being raped. They get no education. What have you done?"
Her comments prompted fellow presenter Yumi Stynes to brand the television personality "racist". In response, Kennerley insisted she was "just stating a fact".
It appears that Yumi wasn't the only one offended by Kennerley's argument, with activists slamming her for her "ignorant and uninformed" statements.
"Calling out Kerri-Anne and the mainstream media who have no representation of our people," they wrote on Facebook."Kerri-Anne your racist remarks to Yumi over the Invasion/ Australia Day protesters are ill informed & no factual back up. Bring your flags bring your posters and your signs."
The planned protest is currently underway at Channel 10's Sydney office.
