Can You Decode Selena Gomez’s Emotional Instagram Post?

Things got VERY real for Selena Gomez over the weekend, who opened up far more than usual after a performance in Jakarta.

She penned an emotional message which she then posted to her Instagram account saying she “needs to rethink” some areas of her life.

Many fans believe the memo could be linked to a number of things, including her part in the Taylor Swift/Kim Kardashian drama, or regret over her relationship with Justin Bieber.

“Tonight I felt extremely unauthentic, unconnected to both myself and my music,” she wrote.

“I’ve never really felt like my materials, wardrobe or a video could define me. I act on a moment and fear something that hasn’t happened,” she said.

“I’m stagnant, I stay still and don’t just sit with myself first and ask ‘is this where I am, whole heartedly?’ I’ve always told the truth. I’m always true to my word, I’ve shown who I am but I need to rethink some areas of my life creatively and personally. had to get that out.”

This comes despite posting happy, smiling videos to her snapchat just hours before. “I’m very, very happy and excited,” she said in one video, later adding, “Everybody here is so nice.”

But just before performing her hit single “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” to end the show, Gomez got emotional and said to the crowd, “The next song, before I go home, is a song that’s so important to me, because I get really frustrated.

I get stupid sometimes. I say things that I don’t mean, or that come out wrong, just because I care so badly.”

This made fans seem certain the Instagram message that followed was somehow linked to her onstage breakdown, and the Taylor Swift drama.

Following the drama with Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian regarding Kanye’s ‘Famous’ recording, Gomez tweeted, ‘There are more important things to talk about...Why can't people use their voice for something that f--king matters? Truth is last thing we need right now is hate, in any form. This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh."

The Twitter trolls then turned on Gomez, as #SelenaGomezIsOverParty #GoToSleepSelena trended.
