Chris Brown Insists He Was Set Up As He Speaks Out
Chris Brown has spoken out for the first time since his recent arrest.
The clip was shown on ABC news in America and Brown starts by saying ‘’I cannot wait till the truth comes to light about this incident and this situation. You know, because my character's been defaced and who I am as a person and my integrity.’’
"I'm glad that all my real supporters know me, and know the truth, and they'll see the truth.’’
Police swarmed Brown’s home in Tarzana, California on Tuesday, August 30 after a woman named Baylee Curran accused him of aiming a gun at her head.
Curran then called 911 after the rapper allegedly got mad at her for admiring a piece of jewellery inside his estate. She claims she was kicked out and refused a nondisclosure agreement.
Brown was then arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon the same day around. He was released from jail on $250,000 bail.
Brown’s lawyer believes that Curran, a former beauty pageant contestant, set the entertainer up. According to Garages, she texted a friend before she contacted the police. He shared the text with ABC.
"This freak Chris Brown is kicking me out of his house because I called his friend's jewellery fake," the text message reportedly reads. "I'm going to set him up and call the cops and say that he tried to shoot me, and that will teach him a lesson. I'm going to set his ass up."
Brown and Curran have had trouble with the law before. The ‘Forever’ singer pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 and completed six years on probation in 2015. Curran is still wanted in New York for stealing a $1,000 Louis Vuitton purse from The Plaza Hotel three years ago.
