Demi Lovato Suffering ’Complications' Related To Overdose

Almost a week since her suspected drug overdose, Demi Lovato remains in hospital after reportedly suffering from “complications”.

TMZ are reporting that the 25-year-old singer has been recovering in Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles since the terrifying incident that occurred last week.

Sources have claimed that she remains there six days later due to “complications” relating to her overdose, including extreme nausea and a high fever.

Lovato was rushed to hospital last Tuesday, local time, after she was found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills home, suffering from an unknown drug overdose.

It was originally thought that the star had taken Heroin as she was revived using Narcan, a drug used to reverse the effects of opioids, however, this has since been labelled false by her representatives. No further information was provided on what led to her hospitalisation.

Hours after Demi’s hospitalisation, it was reported that the singer was doing okay and was said to be stable, awake and responsive.

“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayer and support,” said Lovato’s rep in a statement to Fox News.

Last Thursday, the audio from the 911 call made from Lovato’s home was released by fire officials. The four-and-a-half-minute long call didn’t specify what had caused Lovato to collapse but the woman making the call was heard attempting to keep the incident quiet.

The woman asks if the ambulances could approach the home with “no sirens please”, however the dispatcher tells the woman that he can’t authorise that because “this is definitely a medical emergency for her” and paramedics need to get there as quickly as possible.

Since the incident, fans and other celebrities have been reaching out with support for the singer, with the latest being Keith Urban who was asked on The Today Show what he thinks Demi needs right now.

Having been through addiction himself in the past, Keith said that the only way Demi will be able to get better is if she wants to help herself.

“I don’t know anything about her personally,” started Keith. “Just good people around her and a willingness to want to live a different way if that’s what she wants to do, that’s all up to her.”

Lovato has spoken openly about her struggle with addiction and substance abuse in the past, including drugs and alcohol.

Until recently she had claimed to be sober for since years before releasing a song of the same name in 2018, admitting to a relapse.
