First Wives Club Officially Picked Up For A TV Reboot

Last year we were in a tizzy when we heard one of our all time favourite movies was returning to our screens in the form of a TV show.

And while the first attempt at bringing the story to life may have been passed on by TV Land, critically acclaimed screenwriter Tracy Oliver has given the project new life, through Paramount Network.

Oliver most recently wrote the screenplay for 'Girls Trip' which grossed $100mil at cinema box offices in the US alone.

Meanwhile Karen Rosenfelt, whose credits include 'The Devil Wears Prada' and 'Twilight', is on board as executive producer.

The initial version was slated to star Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother), Megan Hilty (Smash) and Vanessa Lachey (Bold & The Beautiful).

It's unclear whether any of the actresses are still involved in the new version to hit screens.

Paramount Network is a new offering from Viacom that will champion their scripted cable brand, beginning to air in January 2018!

The network are also reviving the Heathers and American Woman.

Bring on new TV offerings in 2018!
