What To Expect From Hollywood's Big Night
Ah, Golden Globes day! One of the most glitzy and glam days on the Hollywood calendar! So what can you expect from today's awards show?
Aussie beauties Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie are strong contenders for a win
Our Nic is the red hot fave to win for starring in and producing TV series, Big Little Lies.
While Queensland babe, Margot Robbie, could also take two Globes for starring in and producing I, Tonya, although she faces stiff opposition.
Hugh Jackman (best actor in a comedy/musical) for The Greatest Showman is a longshot for a win, with James Franco (The Disaster Artist) the frontrunner.
Australians Geoffrey Rush, nominated for best actor in a limited TV series for playing Albert Einstein in Genius, and Katherine Langford, for her performance in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, are also outside chances.
The AWARDS are expected to be OVERSHADOWED BY CONTROVERSY
This year, the ceremony is expected to be overshadowed by a landmark campaign to combat sexual abuse and harassment in Hollywood and other workplaces.
Nic and Margot, along with Reese Witherspoon and other A-List actresses, will use the vast TV audience to launch their Time's Up campaign to take on harassment and abuse.
The actresses are expected to wear black gowns and special pins for the event.

Seth MEYERS IS HOSTING
Meyers isn't a well-known name to the broader Aussie audience but he sure will be after today.
According to E! News, The Late Night Show host plans to address Hollywood's current climate but still celebrate stars' big achievements.
"We want to make sure we address it but we also want to make sure we move on and celebrate all of the work everybody did this year, too," he told E! News. "So, it's going to be about a tone and a balance. But, you know, these things are never easy, whether it's a year like this or a year that's more, sort of, normal, and you just try to approach it with as much intelligence as possible."
DWAYNE "THE ROCK" JOHNSON'S DAUGHTER WILL BE THE FIRST EVER "GOLDEN GLOBES AMBASSADOR"
In previous years, the Golden Globes would pick children of famous actors and actresses for the coveted title of Mr or Miss Golden Globe.
This year, they have gone with a genderless moniker to promote equality and the changing climate.
The first ambassador is the daughter of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, 16-year-old Simone Garcia Johnson.
“I’m really glad they chose to make that change because it promotes equality and is more inclusive, and those are things that I’m passionate about,” she said. “I feel like representing that is really going to open up a lot of doors — not only for me, but also for all the future Golden Globes Ambassadors,” Johnson explained to W Magazine.
You can catch the Golden Globes on FOX8, Monday 8 December from 11.00am
