MAFS’ Mark Explains Those Rumours About Being Unfaithful

No doubt all of Australia is still reeling from last night’s episode of Married At First Sight. No joke, at one point I thought there was legit steam coming out of my ears as I sat on my couch watching the drama go down.

At the girls and boys night the episode before, Jessika Power dropped a pretty nasty rumour about Ning’s husband Mark.

She told Ning that her husband wasn’t who she thought he was and that he was in the experiment for the wrong reasons.

While us at home pretty much knew that Jess was deflecting the attention away from people discussing her own cheating ways with Dan, it was never actually addressed whether the rumours were true or where they came from.

Last night at the dinner party, Mike (AKA our hero of the evening) tried to hold Jess accountable but she never really addressed the allegations seriously and it was never really divulged what the outcome was.

And so you can imagine that we were glued to our screen waiting for answers when Mark, the man at the centre of the rumours, appeared on Talking Married straight after the episode went to air.

After Jess alleged that Mark was planning on being unfaithful to Ning outside of the experiment, Mark went on the Channel Nine show to set the record straight.

“The story originated when Ning and I were on our honeymoon in Thailand,” he told the Talking Married Panel.

“We were at a place and the owner approached both of us and said that after the experiment finishes, he’d like to get Ning and I, and a number of the cast members back to Thailand and have a bit of a party.”

Of course this is slightly different to Jess’ version of events where she claimed that Mark and Mick  were planning to sleep around with prostitutes following the experiment.

“He lies to you,” Jess told Ning during their girls night out. “Mick and Mark have both said when this experiment ends they are going to go and f*ck a whole bunch of b*tches.”

So how did the information get so misconstrued? Mark said he thought the story changed as it moved down the grapevine.

“Away from the filming, Mick and I had a couple of beers and I explained to him this process. He then disclosed this to Jess on his homestay,” Mark said.

“During the third or fourth changing of hands, there’s obviously been a fair bit else spoken about and it seems like now Mick and I are going to Thailand ourselves and having our own little party.

“That’s the story, there’s nothing else to it.”

At the time, Mark had no idea why Jess would even bring his name up in conversation. However, having now watched back the episodes Mark did say that he thought it was possible Jess was using his relationship to distract there other girls from her own affair.

“I think Jess was placed in a position on the girls night where she was looking at maybe deflecting some of her own heat and she may have used that story to get herself out of that,” he said.

But looks like that was all for nothing, because according to the latest ad for Sunday night’s commitment ceremony, the Jess and Dan affair will be exposed to all of the other couples.
