Miley Cyrus' Morbid Hannah Montana Joke On 10th Anniversary

Despite using all means possible, for example twerking, to distance herself from Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Disney show.

It's been ten years since Hannah Montana's first episode aired on the Disney Channel, telling the story of a teenager living the double life of a pop-sensation.

Not only was the show a huge television success but it was the springboard for a massive acting and singing career for Cyrus.

The controversial pop-star took to Instagram on Friday to honour the show and her former co-stars.

"Sending love to all my cast members on this anniversary".

"To the world it's a celebration of 10 years but for us the journey began way before the world had any clue who the f*** any of us are," she said in her lengthy post.

@realdukeofearles understands the insanity of it all..... Sending love to all my cast members on this anniversary .... To the world it's a celebration of 10 years but for us the journey began way  before the world had any clue who the fuck any of us are ..... There was a very long auditioning process, and many chemistry reads which really is what sold the show to the producers and channel because no matter what went on over the years (which none of you have any clue about but It was like the real world but more hormonal teenagers) our love for each other was unquestionable.... Even though I feel disconnected to who I was at that time I will always feel eternally grateful for the opportunity and platform I was given .... None of it would have been possible with out every single person who ever contributed to the series .... From regulars , to special guests (and there were many magical ones @dollyparton 💞) to creators, crew , directors..... I am where I am because of  loyal fans that I am thankful for and of course love dearly all the new angels who support me now..... Even though HM is chopped up into little tiny pieces and buried in my backyard she will always hold a very special place in my heart! Celebrate this day with us! Get real drunk and remember #HM4EVR 👸🏼 send pics gettinnnnn buck wild in honor of this special day! ❤️❤️❤️ #letsplayadrinkinggame watch HM and every time someone says her name take a shot!  Yiew hew!

While Miley admitted she felt "disconnected" to who she was at the time she said she felt "eternally grateful" for the opportunity and platform she was given.

Cyrus auditioned for the show when she was 11-years-old, initially for the part of Hannah's best-friend Lily, before claiming the lead role.

Acting alongside her father Billy Ray Cyrus, the show, which ran for four seasons, saw the teen become a megastar and helped launch her singing career in 2007.

Since the show's end, Cyrus has remained distant from the innocent disney character, rebranding herself as an experimental, twerking princess.

On Friday, the actress and singer encouraged fans to celebrate the show's anniversary with alcohol in a Hannah Montana drinking game.

"Celebrate this day with us! Get real drunk and remember #HM4EVR send pics gettinnnnn buck wild in honor of this special day! #letsplayadrinkinggame watch HM and every time someone says her name take a shot! Yiew hew!"

Cyrus is set to return to the small screen for her role in Woody Allen's upcoming Amazon series.
