Rule That Will Ban Some BIG Celebrities From The Met Gala
While the Met Gala red carpet is always a sea of celebrities looking their absolute best in some unbelievable and often daring designs, it appears that this year a handful of Hollywood’s newest, and youngest, won’t be allowed at the event!
It turns out that a new rule has been introduced for the Gala this year, banning celebrities under the age of 18 from attending the highly coveted event.
This means that stars like Kaia Gerb, Millie Bobby Brown, Maddie Ziegler and Willow Smith won’t be allowed strut their stuff at the event hosted by Anna Wintour’s at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
It’s believed that the reason behind introduction of the new age limit is that the event is too “inappropriate” for the youngsters.
“It’s not an appropriate event for people under 18,” said the event organiser to The Hollywood Reporter.
There is a lot of speculation surrounding why the even might be considered unsuitable for the under-18s, with some saying that this year’s theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” to blame. The organisers of the event denied this rumour.
Others reckon that it might be due to the smoking scandal that took place in the museum’s bathroom last year involving Bella Hadid, Dakota Johnson and Behati Prinsloo. It should be noted though that no one involved was under the age of 18.
There will be some exceptions allowed for young celebrities to attend the event but only if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Meantime, the 2018 Met Gala red carpet has officially kicked off with celebrities showing up in their themed outfits. Keep up to date with the latest from the red carpet through the KIIS 1065 website and socials.
