Prince William Might’ve Dropped Hint At The Royal Baby Name

Prince William has stepped out for the first time since his wife Kate Middleton gave birth to their third child, a little baby boy, and he may have given us a clue at what they have named the little Prince.

William was attending the Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving on ANZAC Day at Westminster Abbey in order to remember the deceased Army Corps veterans of Australia and New Zealand when he was asked about his newborn son.

The Duke of Cambridge said that their son was doing “very well” and that everyone is “in good form, luckily” since the birth. He also said that “sleeping’s going reasonably well so far, so he’s behaving himself which is good.”

And while we’re very happy to hear that the newborn and the Duchess of Cambridge are doing well, everyone around the world is a little bit more concerned with finding out what they have decided to name the new royal.

Bets have been circling and many guesses have been made, but now it seems that Prince William might’ve actually let slip a clue about his son’s name while speaking with officials at the service.

William said that their third child has been given a “strong” name and he hinted that the names Alexander and Jerry both fit that category nicely.

The Australian high Commissioner, Alexander Downer, told William while shaking his hand that he thought his own name would be fitting for the little Prince. To which William replied, “Funny you should say that. It’s a good name. Prince Alexander does have a nice ring to it.”

And so now people are convinced that Alexander might be the top pick! The name has jumped to the top spot on Sports Bets odds for the child’s name, overtaking the original top picks of Arthur, Albert, James, Philip and Henry.

William also spoke with Sir Jerry Mateparae, New Zealand’s high commissioner to the United Kingdom, and he said that “Jerry is a strong name, absolutely.”

So will we have a Prince Alexander or a Prince Jerry? When Prince George and Princess Charlotte were first born, Kensington Palace waited two days to announce their names so we’re guessing that we won’t have to wait too long to find out for sure!

The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her third child and second son with Prince William in London at 11:01am local time on Monday.
