Ryan Reynolds Is Making An R-Rated Reboot Of Home Alone
Well Merry bloody Christmas you filthy animals! It might not be anywhere near December but it seems that we’re already receiving a christmas gift with the announcement that Ryan Reynolds is bringing one of our all time favourite holiday films back to life!
There are reports surfacing this morning that arguably one of the funniest Ryan's in Hollywood is swapping in his Deadpool superhero costume for some christmas pyjamas and a list of pranks.
That’s right, Ryan Reynolds is set to fill the shoes of a young McCauley Culkin as he stars in a remake of the 1990 classic Home Alone!
Deadline is reporting that Fox will bring the film back to life but will be adding one big difference. The new take will be getting an R-rating and a new name: Stoned Alone.
Ryan Reynolds has been listed as a producer on the film but is also expected to star in it as the twenty-something, weed-growing stoner who misses his flight to a skiing holiday. The protagonist decides to make the best of a bad situation and stay home getting stoned.
Of course this sounds quite different to the original that sees an innocent child accidentally left home alone over the Christmas holidays. But don’t worry, the best part of the film, the break in scene, is reportedly going to be kept in the new version.
According to the synopsis, Ryan’s character “believes he hears someone break into his house. Turns out thieves have broken in. Fully stoned and fuelled by paranoia, he tries to thwart the thieve and defend his castle.”
Taking on the Home Alone classic is a dangerous task seeing as the film has such a big fan base and as expected the internet is already having mixed reactions to the announcement.

We’re definitely down for it, especially if it is starring the hunky Ryan Reynolds. But please, PLEASE tread carefully Fox! We don’t think we could forgive you if you ruin the original for us.
