Schapelle Corby's Boyfriend Has Spoken Out

Schapelle Corby’s boyfriend Ben Panangian has spoken out for the first time since his girlfriend was deported from Bali.

Panangian, 36, told New Idea that has no idea if he will see the convicted drug smuggler again but is dreaming that they will be reunited.

He told New Idea “It is lonely with her not here, I really hope we can see each other again in the future, but we don’t know. It’s all uncertain and so it’s difficult to make any plans.’’

It is very unlikely that Corby will be permitted to return to Indonesia due to her drug smuggling sentence and Panangian has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years for marijuana possession, which could make it difficult for him to enter Australia.

“We dream of getting back together,” he told New Idea. “But we don’t speak of marriage or children. Once we know if we can see each other again, we can talk about it.’

In the past three years, while Corby was on parole and living in Bali, the couple would often be seen together at the beach, near Bali’s international airport.

The couple met 11 years ago at a church service in Bali’s Kerobokan prison.
