Shock Twist In The Investigation Into George Michael's Death
George Micheal’s boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz has been interviewed by police investigating the pop star’s death on Christmas Day as it emerged a major crime squad has taken over the inquiry.
Mr Fawaz, who lives in London, was questioned as part of a routine investigation y police officers compiling a report on the stars death for the coroner, who will hold an inquest later this year.
Michael, 53, passed away at his home on Christmas Day, apparently from heart failure.
Fawaz found Michaels body and has since been the centre of public attention following tweets posted saying Michael had 'tried to kill himself many times’, which he says were not posted by him.
Last week, Fawaz told UK newspaper The Daily Mirror that he fell asleep in his car on Christmas Eve and ‘I never saw him that night. The police know everything. That’s the most important thing.'
Further tests are being carried out on George’s body after the post-mortem examination came back inconclusive.
In a statement about Michael's death, Mr Fawaz - who had been in a relationship with Michael since 2009 - spoke about how excited they had been to share Christmas together.
He said: 'We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. I went round there to wake him up, and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed.
'We don't know what happened yet. Everything had been very complicated recently, but George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I.'
Mr Fawaz later tweeted that he would 'never stop missing' the star.
