It's official - Melbourne astrophysicist Matt Agnew is your next Bachelor!
"I’ve got a real ‘do it once, do it right’ mentality so I’ll be making sure I throw myself into it, be vulnerable and enjoy what comes from that," Matt told the Herald Sun.
"[It] is certainly an unorthodox way to meet someone, but I would never shy away from exploring an opportunity just because it’s a little out of left field."
The astrophysicist, who has lived in Berlin and Buenos Aires, has admitted to being sick of constantly being a groomsman and never a groom.
"Seeing my mates... tying the knot and buzzing with laughter and love together, I realise I want that."
The show's executive producer, Hilary Innes, has revealed that Matt will bring some old school romance back to the hit show.
"Matt will be a breath of fresh air to be around. He comes from such an interesting and different world but is still a humble and down to earth Aussie man who really just wants to find the love of his life."
The Melburnian is looking for a partner who's "compassionate, warm, caring [and] generous".
He added, "I'm looking for a best friend, the same way I've seen so many of my friends find one in their partners."
The modern day Clark Kent appears to be completing his PhD at the Swinburne University of Technology with the core goal of using "numerical techniques to search for dynamically stable planet candidates in the habitable zones of all known multiple planet systems."
The 31-year-old describes himself as a "Spaceman. Exoplanet hunter. Ice cream enthusiast" on Twitter and we don't know about you, but we love him already!
