The Film Leonardo DiCaprio Doesn’t Want You To See
We’ve all got our fingers crossed that Leo FINALLY snags an Oscar this year, but there is a movie he doesn’t want kudos for… A very young Leo starred in a low-budget black and white indie film 20 years ago, but you probably haven’t heard of it.
For 20 years ‘Don’s Plum’ has been hidden from the public, until now.
Along with fellow actor and friend, Tobey Maguire, the famous pair successfully had the movie banned from the US and Canada when the director tried to capitalise on the duos rising fame.
The film remains unreleased in the US and Canada, but the film’s producers have set up a Vimeo link through website freedonsplum.com allowing you to watch the film in full! Although taken down shortly after word got out, you can view a small clip of the film.
DiCaprio and Maguire featured in the film following DiCaprio’s success in ‘What’s Eating Gilbert Grape’ but before Maguire’s breakout in ‘Pleasantville’.
The film was released briefly in Germany in 2001, where it was hailed an ‘unpleasant and tedious ensemble’ by Variety. No wonder Leo doesn’t want it to see the light of day!
