Water Supply In Brisbane Suburb Compromised
Residents in the suburb of Petrie are being warned not to consume tap water without boiling first.
The warning has been in place since last night after the Petrie Water Treatment Plant's stocks were potentially compromised.
"The precautionary boil water notice is as a result of an issue at the Petrie water treatment plant," Unity Water's Facebook page read.
"Our crews have been doorknocking and providing bottled water and will continue to do so until 8pm as we want to limit the late night inconvenience.
"Water will still be available at Petrie water treatment plant until 10pm.
"We will resume doorknocking and water delivery from 7am tomorrow.
"Please share this information with your neighbours, family and friends in Petrie if you can, particularly if they are elderly."
