Manu Feildel Reveals Heartbreaking Secret Battle

Manu Feildel has revealed his secret battle with depression following the closure of two of his restaurants in 2014.

The popular My Kitchen Rules judge struggled financially when his Sydney eatery L'etoile Restaurant & Bar shut and when several months later his Melbourne restaurant Le Grand Cirque also ceased trading.

'It was tough,' he tells TV Week. 'I lost my pride, my money and went through a stage of depression.'

The 43-year-old said the help of his family and friends and the success of My Kitchen Rules helped him back on track.

'I don't have time for worrying anymore - what's the point? It's better to smile and be happy.'

Well you wanted to know who the new MKR judge was! Here is the answer to your question. Love to have on board mate.

The Frenchman recently opened up a new pop-up restaurant called Duck In Duck Out in Sydney but this time, banned critics from the opening hoping customers would judge for themselves.

'We are inviting food bloggers and magazine editors,' he said at the time of the opening, before adding: 'But the food critics don’t need to come here. It’s not for them,’ he said.

'I don’t need the food critic to be the judge. It’s one person being the judge instead of the masses,' he continued.
