Actress Sarah Jessica Parker will launch a shoe line in 2014 called SJP.
The shoes will go on sale with US fashion retailer Nordstrom, with the collection also to include handbags and coats.
"Somehow people expected that from me because of Carrie Bradshaw," says Parker in Vogue magazine.
Parker played the shoe-loving character of Bradshaw in the hit series Sex and the City from 1998 to 2004.
Aside from being a worldwide hit, the series was also part advertisement for Spanish label Manolo Blahnik.
Parker will partner with Manolo Blahnik's president George Malkemus on her SJP collection.
In the article for Vogue, the author admits that the world is not holding its breath for yet another shoe and handbag collection, but that Parker is aiming to stand out from the crowd.
"We are going to use new colours that people would not normally choose. They will be lovely combinations that women will want to have in their wardrobes."
SJP shoes will sell for about $US300 ($A327.19) a pair while handbags will cost up to $US700 ($A763.44).
