Driverless Ubers Could Be A Thing VERY Soon
If you hate awkward small talk with your uber driver, this is good news for you.
The head of Uber has said that drivers may no longer be necessary if a trial of driverless cars goes well.
Uber bought a total of 24,000 adapted Volvo cars with the intent of turning them into the world's first driverless taxi service. The technology comes at a cost of $300 million dollars to develop.
Speaking at a technology conference, the CEO of Uber, Dara Khosrowshahi, has said that this technology is not far off. In fact, he's indicated that people can expect driverless rides within the next year and a half.
