Former Basketballer Charged Over Lindt Cafe Vandalism Attack

A former Sydney Kings player Luke Martin has been arrested for assaulting an officer and vandalising the Lindt cafe.

Martin, 34 years old was allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road on Elizabeth in his Holden Cruz Daily Telegraph reports.

A police statement read “The Cruze travelled along Oxford St in Darlinghurst and came to a stop in Darlinghurst Rd. The male driver left vehicle and allegedly threw a bag, from the back of the car, at officers”.

“While police were attempting to arrest the driver, a male constable was allegedly assaulted. His colleague was able to detain the man until more police arrived.”

Luke Martin attended Central Local court this afternoon and was refused bail.

“One officer suffered a hairline fracture to his jaw after allegedly being punched while arresting Mr Martin” Daily Telegraph reports.

Mr Martin will reappear at Central Local on June 12.
