Identical Twins Meet For The First Time
A set of identical twins who were separated at birth have come face to face with each other for the first time on Good Morning America.
Gracie and Audrey were adopted by two different families as infants and both had no idea of the other twin’s existence until last year. Audrey’s mum, Jennifer Doering, discovered a photo of her daughter alongside another baby that looked identical. From then the hunt was on to find out the identity of the baby.
"As soon as I had that picture, I was desperate to find out ... who that other child was," she said.
"Oh, it was unbelievable. I'm like, 'How?' I mean, this is stuff you read about. And how, how could it really be that there are two of them?"
Thanks to the help of an investigator and Facebook (of course!) Jennifer was able to track Gracie’s mum down. The rest is history!
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Gracie and Audrey locked eyes for the first time. Dressed in matching clothes the girls burst into tears and embraced. The ten-year-old’s quickly realised they shared a love for the same food and both had heart conditions growing up.
"It's very overwhelming," Gracie said.
"It felt like there was something missing, so it was like, now it's complete," Audrey added.
