It's Official! SeaChange Is Being Rebooted!

After almost twenty years since airing it's final episode, much loved Aussie drama series SeaChange is returning in 2019.

While there had been rumors for months that the show may return in some form, the announcement  at the Nine Network’s 2019 programming launch was a shock to many industry insiders.

IT'S BACK! A COUNTRY PRACTICE SET TO RETURN TO OUR SCREENS

It was revealed that original stars Sigrid Thornton and John Howard will both return to reprise their roles as Laura Gibson and Bob Jelly in the series.

SeaChange which originally aired for three seasons from 1998 to 2000 on the ABC, but there is no word yet on whether other original cast members — including David Wenham, Kerry Armstrong and Kate Atkinson — will also return.

Set in the small coastal town of Pearl Bay, the original series followed the life of magistrate Gibson as she juggled work, motherhood and romantic relationships in a town of quirky characters.

Nine’s press release revealed:

“Twenty years on, Laura returns to the beachside paradise of Pearl Bay. However, it seems that this time around Pearl Bay needs Laura just as much as she needs it,”

WE REMEMBER THE SULLIVANS

Sigrid Thornton said:

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be returning to Pearl Bay. Time has passed and the world has changed, so as we revisit this rich and strange place I trust we’ll all delight in the chance to explore how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go. I can hardly wait,”

Neither can we Sigrid!
