"Lucky" Bris Man Finds Joint... Then Gets Caught By Police
A Brisbane man who thought it was his "lucky day" when he found a marijuana joint on the road has been fined $500.
Peter James Collins, 23, pleaded guilty in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday to possessing dangerous drugs but avoided a conviction.
Collins, from Regents Park, said he thought it was his "lucky day" when he stumbled across the joint, which he knew was cannabis from the way it was rolled.
Magistrate Anthony Gett told Collins his "luck seemed to run out when police caught up with you".
"That's the jeopardy you place yourself in picking up the joint," he said.
