Parents You Can Now Hit The Club With Your Kids!
By Isabella Lovric
Generally speaking, clubbing and kids are two words that have never really gone hand-in-hand. Even parents that used to regularly hit the d-floor in their prime find that their party days are few and far between when their kids come along.
But, that's all about to change!
Kid-friendly raves have recently become a huge trend, and they actually seem pretty awesome!
Big Little Fish is a music and events crew of seasoned ravers and parents that put on family-friendly raves with all the freedom and excitement of a mini-festival.
Originally from London, they have now launched in Australia and are bringing all the excitement to the Gold Coast on May 5th, and the theme is, under the sea!
So you're probably wondering what to expect at these raves.
According to the Little Big Fish website, parents and kids can expect top DJs playing club classics, fancy dress themes, bubble machines, giant balloons, glitter cannons, craft areas, cake stalls, face painting stalls, play areas, light installations and best of all, a licensed bar.
This is starting to sound way better than a regular nightclub at this point!
Speaking to the Gold Coast Bulletin, Big Little Fish Queensland co-ordinator, Stuart Mattheson, jumped at the chance to run the event and said that the company was formed to create connections and community on the dance floor.
“The experience of having my children watch their daddy DJ was just incredible,” Mr Mattheson said.
"Seeing all the parents and children’s faces at the event was really something special and the feedback we get is always so positive.
"We feel we are providing another generation with the music we love and care about,” he said.
Mr Mattheson said that it's the same as going to a nightclub, but the music is played at lower levels than at clubs with more activities for kids.
“The party includes a multi-sensory dance floor using things such as bubbles, themed lights, glow sticks and projected synched videos, which both little and larger ravers love,” Mr Mattheson said.
“There is a craft area which is suited to children from 2-8 always with 3-4 choices of things to make.
“We also provide an area or room for the really little ravers with a baby and toddler chill out room including ball pit, soft toys and tents."
Mr Mattheson says that it is completely safe for little ones, with thorough safety checks before the event begins.
