The New Scam Targeting Qld Drivers That Could Cost You Big!
We’re being warned of a new scam targeting drivers with the introduction of new eticketing in Queensland.
Police revealed the fake email claims recipients have received a traffic infringement and asks they click on a link for photo proof.

However, the link instead downloads malware (malicious software).
There are concerns the scam most likely installs ransomware, designed to block access to people’s computer system until a specified sum is paid.
Queensland Police say the only way people will receive traffic offence emails, is if they have been stopped by an officer for a traffic offence and they agree to finalise the fine via an email.
