There’s A Heartbreaking Story Behind This Beautiful Picture
It looks like a beautiful moment shared between two brothers, captured by their mother, however this image is much, much more, and has a heartbreaking story behind it.
#Throwback to when we were on our holiday. I was getting ready in the bathroom and husband was in the kitchen. The kids were quiet, especially Mr preschooler. You know the rules about when kids are quiet. I tiptoed to the lounge with my camera ready to catch anything they are doing. I was expecting my baby to be covered in Nutella or something but instead I saw this. My preschooler is telling his baby brother "Kuya (big brother) is here. Everything is ok". #myboys #bestbigbrother #documentinglittlemoments #mybabyloves #myheartandsoul #luckymummy
Four-month-old Thomas, who is battling terminal cancer, is being comforted by his older brother William.
He’s stroking his cheek gently, which looking into his little eyes.
Their mother Sheryl Blanksby captured the tender moment and has explained on her Instagram page how her heart broke when she took the snap.
“I was getting ready in the bathroom and husband was in the kitchen,” Sheryl said.
“The kids were quiet, especially Mr preschooler.
“You know the rules about when kids are quiet. I tiptoed to the lounge with my camera ready to catch anything they are doing.

We’re crying actual tears now.
Sheryl and her husband Jon, from Western Australia, were devasted when doctors diagnosed Thomas with a malignant rhabdoid tumour in February when he was just 11 weeks old.
The form of cancer is most common in infants and toddlers.
A GoFundMe page has been set up on behalf of the family and details his devastating diagnosis. He underwent surgery to remove his kidney before doctors realised the cancer was terminal.
The family have not been given a time frame for how long they have left with Thomas, and Sheryl has detailed the painful experience on her blog.
“My heart breaks for every big smile he gives me because I know how much I will miss it when it’s all gone,” she wrote.
“When you think my heart can’t take it anymore, it shatters even more when he gives his begging look when he’s in pain.”
Sending this beautiful family and strong little boy lots of love. We’re praying for you, Thomas. <3
