Metal Band Crosses Paths With Engagement Shoot

Wondering how to celebrate both everlasting love and hate?

Look no further.

John Awesome (yes, that’s his name) and Nydia Hernandez were having their engagement photos shot by photographer Janet Wheeland in California’s Holy Jim Canyon when they happened across black metal band Coldvoid, who were in their full get-up making use of the full moon while also having some shots taken.

“During the last part of the session, we noticed a few guys with some corpse paint makeup on sitting at a nearby bench blaring out some black metal music,” Awesome, 34, told US ABC News.

“We just randomly thought it would be a funny idea if we could get them to be a part of our engagement shoot.

“So we approached them and asked and they more than happy to accept!”

The unique photos have gone viral with nearly 600,000 views on Imgur.

The band gave the couple a copy of their new demo, which Wheeland said, “was the perfect eerie soundtrack for the drive out of the woods.”

“Super nice people,” Awesome said.

“I seriously can't make this stuff up.”

Metal AF.
