It has already launched it in 670 outlets over the past month, before rolling out the rest once the kinks are sorted.
The national rollout of the online shopping method, rebranded Pick Up, comes ahead of Amazon’s launch in Australia, which is expected to launch in the next 2 months.
Coles already offers its click and collect service at about 150 locations.Woolworths online operations head Lisia Roth said the supermarket group had trained more than 4500 personal shoppers to pick and pack customer groceries.
“We’re always looking for new and innovative ways to make shopping easier for our customers,” she said.
“With the addition in just one month of over 670 stores as online shopping collection points, we are now providing additional convenience for customers in all corners of the country.
“Customers will be able to get more time back in their day as we do their shopping for them.” The pick-up service is free but orders must be worth more than $30.
