There's Legit An App That'll Help You Find Halal Restaurants

One Australian businessman has come up with the goods, creating an app that locates cafes and restaurants offering halal food across Australia.

Called Halal Advisor, Aladdin Moukhallalati's invention has already banked a library of more than 3000 food venues - the majority of which are in Sydney and Melbourne - and gives users any relevant options within their vicinity at a glance.

It also flags whether the restaurant offers only some halal dishes or whether they're fully halal certified.

"You can broaden or hone in your search or pick a certain cuisine then decide whether you want to dine in or takeaway," Mr Moukhallalati told news.com.au.

"[Australia is] such a multicultural country and the demand for food has risen.

"Having restaurants like Rashays that are selling 100 per cent halal food, that also caters to the general public with burgers and pasta, is great.

"You only have to look at the big chains that now have 100 per cent halal food in Sydney's southwest - Bankstown Macca's and Flowerdale Road KFC - [and] you're seeing more and more offering halal food."

With more than 7,000 downloads and cafes and restaurants being added to the database daily, it seems like Mr Moukhallalati is on to a good - and useful - thing.

"Having more than 600,000 Muslims in Australia... When I decided to create the app, it was purely a business decision because there was a market for it," he explained.

"We are constantly updating it so our users have the most up-to-date information possible."

You can download the app for iOS or Android here.
