Not One, Not Two... Apple Plans To Release THREE New iPhones
Apple are about to release not one or two, but THREE new smartphones this year, including the largest one. In ever.
The tech giant wants to appeal to the growing interest in phablets and a more affordable version of the iPhone X.
An announcement is expected this autumn in the US, spring in Australia, and that their plans could still change.
Despite the hype, iPhone X hasn't exactly sold like hotcakes - Apple sold 77.3 million iPhones in the final quarter of 2017, falling short of the 80.2 million projection.
The iPhone X's price tag of $US1,000 is thought to have turned off consumers and Apple reckons this new lineup will have a model for everyone.
The new handset's screen will be almost 6.5 inches (16.51 centimetres), which will make it one of the largest mainstream smartphones on the market. The phone itself will be about the same size as the iPhone 8 Plus.
Like the iPhone X, the bigger phone will include the Face ID scanner that unlocks the device and could also have a dual-SIM card option, allowing people use their phones in countries with different plans without having to swap out cards.
Interestingly, the larger phone could curb iPad sales, which had recently started to grow in popularity again.
