People Stopped Watching Porn During The Royal Wedding

We’re just going to jump straight into this one.

While it didn’t break the internet completely, the Royal Wedding certainly reportedly had a huge effect on traffic and searches on Pornhub.

The site has revealed that, while Harry and Meghan were tying the knot, traffic to their site plummeted, particularly from the UK.

Pornhub Insights discovered that as the ceremony began, worldwide traffic fell by a massive 10%.

Country-by-country, however, they said they were surprised that France was the country with the biggest traffic drop of -23% during the ceremony.

They also reported that traffic in Chile was down -20%, -19% in Italy and -18% in New Zealand, The Netherlands and Turkey.

Commonwealth countries like Australia and Canada were down -17% and -16% respectively.

They also reported that searches for ‘Meghan Markle’ experienced a steady increase in the days before and after the wedding, spiking at +2813% on May 21st. It could’ve, however, been higher if users actually spelt her name correctly. The next most-searched variation was ‘Megan Markle’ followed by ‘Megan Markel’.

It’s also worth noting that searches for “Prince” increased by 403% but, in the days following the ceremony, “royal” shot up by a huge 1865%.

Other searches included guests attending the wedding:

- Meghan’s Suits co-star “Abigail Spencer” was up 178%

- “Kate Middleton” was up 988%

- “Serena Williams” jumped 108%

- “Victoria Beckham” a huge 4213%

- “David Beckham” up an impressive 3440%.

There were many searches for “Priyanka Chopra” but Pornhub Insights couldn’t provide a proper percentage.
