AFL Couple 'Sped Up Birth' So He Can Play In Semi-Final
Sydney Swans star Jarrad McVeigh will be able to play in the semi-finals this weekend after he and his wife "sped things up" with the birth of their third child.
Clementine McVeigh shared a photo of the couple's newborn baby girl on Instagram, the caption read: "FLORENCE VIVIENNE MCVEIGH. My Heart Is Exploding."
Jarrad shared on the Swan's website that his wife was due to give birth on September 18, but instead the couple welcomed Florence on Tuesday so he was free to play in the semi against Geelong.
"We tried to put a few things in place because she was actually due next Monday, so we sped things up a bit," he told Fairfax.
"The week has started off pretty well, everyone is healthy and happy so I'll quickly train today then head back to the hospital.
"Two father-daughters [for the future] is all right."
Baby Florence is their third child. Sadly their firstborn Luella, died at only four weeks after being born with a heart condition. Their second child, Lolita-Luella is five years old.
