Boy, 10, In Critical Condition After School Yard Assault
A young boy has been left in a critical condition in hospital after a fight at a school in Sydney’s west.
Emergency services were called to Wattawa Heights Public School in Bankstown at around midday on Tuesday following reports that a boy had been injured on school grounds.
Police believe that the 10-year-old suffered a medical episode after an assault in the school yard.
He was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
A crime scene was set up by police at the scene. Details of the alleged assault are not yet known and police have not made any arrests.
“Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene and inquiries are continuing,” NSW Police told 9NEWS in a statement.
