MAN MISSING as car swept away in FLOODS as wife watches on.

A 67-year-old Queensland man is missing after his car was swept away in floodwaters near GYMPIE.

The man and his wife got out of their car when they encountered a flooded causeway on Marys Creek Road on Monday evening.

The man then got back into the car in a bid to move it but the vehicle was swept away by the rushing water.

Queensland authorities are appealing for information to help them find three young CHILDREN who went MISSING from Brisbane last month.

Police are calling on the public to help find twin five-year-old girls and a boy, 6, who were last seen in Cleveland on September 24 with 39-year-old Marcin Kurek, who is known to them.

They are believed to be travelling together in a silver 2009 PROTON SEDAN with Queensland registration 806-XLP.

SYLVIA JEFFREYS is rumoured to be first in line to replace Lisa Wilkinson on The Today Show. 

Wilkinson made a shock exit from the morning show yesterday amid pay disputes. 

Chris Bath and Georgie Gardner are also rumoured to be in the running. 

The RAIN is set to continue on Tuesday according to the Bureau of Meteorology in Brisbane. 

The forecast predicts there is 90% chance of rainfall with 15 to 25mm the estimate. 

The wet weather should subside by this evening, however rain is predicted to continue for the rest of the week.
