A Star Of Neighbours Has Suddenly Collapsed And Died
Neighbours actor and writer Russell Kiefel and died after collapsing on stage during a performance of And I’m The Queen Of Sheba.
He was reportedly taken ill during the production at the Brown’s Mart Theatre in Darwin, and later passed away. All remaining shows have been cancelled out of respect.
Colette Mann, who played Kiefel’s love interest in the show, led the tributes with a picture of them on the show.
She shared “I am very very sad to say that the wonderful actor, Russell Kiefel who played Russell Brennan in 2015 on @neighbours passed away yesterday.
“All our prayers and thoughts are with his wife Katrina and his beloved boys.”
Director of the performance Sean Party told NT News I met Russell in the first week of rehearsals and immediately recognised that he was a generous, funny and cheeky man.
"It was an honour to meet him and a privilege to see him perform on the Brown’s Mart stage."
Russell's character Russell Brennan was the abusive father of brothers Mark, Tyler and Aaron.
