Victorian Woman Rescued From Tracks With SECONDS To Spare
Victoria Police have released CCTV footage of the moment that they pulled a woman from train tracks just moments before an oncoming train passed through the station.
The woman can be seen crossing the tracks of a suburban station in Melbourne before calling for help from those on the platform to pull her up, completely oblivious to the fact that she was in the path of an oncoming train.
A civilian runs to try and help her and is joined by three Protective Service Officers who manage to pull the woman to safety mere moments before the train passes over the spot where she was standing.
"Police would like to highlight the serious safety risks involved in entering the railway tracks, in or around station platforms," Leading Senior Constable Lea-Taylor Bolton said.
"This area is a restricted for access by railway personnel only and the woman has been charged as a result.
"The incident highlights some of the fantastic work performed by PSOs, keeping commuters safe across Melbourne's rail network."
Thankfully no one was injured during the dramatic rescue.
Victoria Police have not confirmed when the incident occurred.
