Brisbane Boy, 5, Mowed Down By Motorcyclist

A motorcyclist has mowed down a young boy after ignoring a red light, leaving the child with fractures and a head injury, before riding off.

Police believe the five-year-old and a 31-year-old woman were crossing Juers Street, near Attunga Street in Kingston, when the rider cut around a car stopped at the red light and hit the boy. The motorcyclist kept going.

"The motorbike then continued to drive away westbound on Juers Street," the police report states.

"The boy sustained a minor head injury as well as fractures to his leg and ankle as a result of the collision.

"He was transported to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

"The motorbike is described as possibly red in colour.

"Police are urging for anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time of the incident or further information about the motorbike to come forward.

"The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating."

The boy suffered a minor head injury as well as fractures to his leg and ankle, and is in Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in a stable condition. Police are appealing for dashcam footage or witnesses.
