A Brisbane cafe worker has been attacked by an axe-wielding man while trying to wrestle a computer back from the thief.

Two men entered the cafe at River Hills early on Tuesday and grabbed the computer from the front counter.

During the struggle the waitress was cut on the hand by the axe before the robbers fled.

The woman was treated for a cut to her hand, and police investigations are continuing.
