Brisbane Drivers Warned As Kids Head Back To School
Thousands of Queensland children will return to school this morning following their long summer holidays and reminder has been released for all commuters.
With the return, it means that roads that have been operating at their full speeds over summer will return to 40km/h during peak school periods.
These speeds are enforceable by law and drivers can be fined and given points for not obeying them.
The 40km/h areas operate between 7am and 9am as well as 2pm and 4pm during term dates, with the current term dating starting today and ending on 5 April.
Signs will be displayed in the area, so keep an eye out for them.
Increased traffic on the roads is also expected during these peak times, so plan your trip accordingly.
