Brisbane Woman Thwarts Armed Robbers With Quick Thinking

A quick-thinking woman has narrowly avoided being held up at gunpoint in her garage in northeast Brisbane.

Police say the driver was parking her Audi in the garage on The Promenade in Henda at 7.50pm on Wednesday night when two men, one armed with a gun, got out of a stolen car and walked up to her window.

She locked her doors and sounded her horn and both men ran back to their car and drove off.

The stolen vehicle was then sighted at a Lawnton Service Station, where the occupants were involved in a second armed robbery.

"At around 9:10 pm a stolen Black, Holden Trax, SUV wagon (pictured) entered the Old North Road business. One man remained in the vehicle, a second man armed with a gun and a woman got out of the car," the police report states.

"The armed man entered the store and demanded cash.

"The two men and the woman fled the store in the stolen Holden.

"This incident is believed to be linked to the earlier attempted armed robbery of a woman on The Promenade, Hendra.

"Anyone who observes the vehicle are advised to contact police and not to approach the vehicle."
