Earlier:

Westfield Carindale has been reportedly evacuated on red alert.

The reason for the large scale evacuation is not known at this stage.

Journalist Monique Dews is at the scene and gave us the below update of the scenes at the major shopping centre.

"The overhead PA came on [stating] 'this is centre management, this is an emergency, head to your nearest exit'," Dews said.

"No one has told us what's going on, we don't know but we have heard fire engines racing to the scene.

"I can't smell smoke... but we are all hanging in the car park."

Dews also had confirmation from the fire warden who is investigating a fire on site.
