Carjacking Pair On The Run In South-East Queensland

Two violent carjackers who were last seen in a white Mazda 6 sedan, are on the run following a violent attempted carjacking yesterday.

The men took police on a high-speed chase covering 300km through Queensland's south-east.

According to Nine News, "one of the men was armed with a knife when he entered a Hyundai Tuscon, parked in a driveway on Stringybark Street, Sunnybank Hills, at midday yesterday and tried to start the vehicle."

The female owner of the car jumped in, causing the man to get out and run to an awaiting getaway car. The pair fled the scene.

PolAir vision filmed the car heading towards the Sunshine Coast, when they got out and assaulted a 63-year-old man on Caringa Street, before stealing his car.

Investigations are ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
