Céline Dion's Heartbreaking Confession About Late Husband

Less than a year after her beloved husband's death, Céline Dion has made the heartbreaking revelation that she still feels married to him.

In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the Canadian singer opened up about her 21-year marriage to René Angélil, who died in January this year from throat cancer, telling Mo Rocca: "I love him. I'm still in love with him."

Dion first met Angélil when she was just 12 years old; the then-38-year-old had signed as Dion's manager, even remortgaging his own house to raise enough money for her 1981 debut album, La Voix de bon Dieu.

"I thought he looked very beautiful," the My Heart Will Go On singer said of their first meeting. "He looked great. I felt confident that this man was not treating me as a 'Oh hi, little pumpkin', or 'Hi, little sweetie', or like a little baby."

The 48-year-old then emotionally explained that "the man of my life was my partner, and we were one. So when he stopped suffering, I said to myself: 'He's okay, and he deserves not to suffer.'"

Dion also admitted that she had "never kissed another man in my life" during the interview, which celebrated her 1000th performance at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

"I love. I love. I love him," she stated when asked if she had thought about starting a new romance. "I'm still in love with him.

"And I have the love of my children. I have the love of my fans. I love the people that I work with. So my life is not empty of love.

"I go to bed with him and I come onstage with him," Dion continued. "And... so, I'm still married to him."

The couple started their relationship in 1987, not long after Dion had turned 19; though they got engaged four years later, it wasn't until Dion made the news public in the liner notes of her 1993 album The Colour Of My Love that the full extent of their love was revealed.

Angélil and Dion married in an elaborate ceremony in December 1994 and have three children together: René-Charles Angélil, 16, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 6.
