Children At Qld Home Where Bodies Were Found

Children were inside a Gold Coast suburban house where the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered by police on Tuesday.

The bodies of the 52-year-old man and 40-year-old woman, who police say were known to each other, were located inside the Pimpama property at approximately 6.30am.

Police confirmed children were inside the house, but refused to confirm how many, their ages or their relationships to the deceased.

Residents of Matas Drive didn't hear any disturbances, saying the grisly scene was a shock to wake up to.

"We didn't hear anything or see anything," neighbour Storm Bacon said.

"A little bit scary ... it's very quiet. There's nothing really ever happening, there's no commotions, so this is a pretty crazy thing to have happened."

Detective Inspector Mark Thompson said investigations were ongoing but police do not believe a third person was involved in the deaths.

"Any death of this nature is treated as suspicious," said Det Insp Thompson, indicating only that firearms or "any other weapons of that nature" were not involved in the deaths.

"It's very difficult to say it's a murder-suicide at this time."
