Clem7 Tolls Waived During Story Bridge Weekend Closure

The Story Bridge will see a waterproofing system installed in late April, resulting in a full closure of the bridge.

The closure will come into effect from 9pm Friday 27 April 2018 until 5am Monday 30 April 2018 - weather permitting.

Diversions will be in place between Main Street and Bowen Terrace.

But this will also see the Clem 7 tolls waived during this period.

"Concrete repairs in recent years have fixed some of the concrete damage to the slabs and beams attributed to water infiltration, however, the installation of a waterproofing system is essential to maintaining the life of the concrete elements," the Brisbane City Council statement reads.

"A full closure of the Story Bridge, between Main Street and Bowen Terrace, is required to complete the project.

"During this time, detours will be in place to divert traffic towards either the Captain Cook Bridge or through the Clem7. Tolls will be waived on the Clem7 for the duration of the full closure."

The works will involve:

-full closure of the Story Bridge
-removal of the asphalt from the concrete deck
-cleaning of the concrete to ensure the product adheres effectively
-applying the waterproofing membrane to the cleaned concrete surface
-laying a new asphalt top surface
-line marking
-bridge joint re-sealing

So plan accordingly!
