Devastating News For Ita Buttrose

A 12-year-old relative of media personality Ita Buttrose has died in a horrific head-on car crash.

Oscar Buttrose was travelling home to Sydney with family after spending Christmas away when the devastating accident occurred, The Daily Telegraph reports.

The family’s mini-van collided with a P-plate driver on the Pacific Highway in Tyndale near Grafton, NSW on Wednesday afternoon.

The young boy was airlifted to hospital, but died a short time later.

He was travelling with his father Michael (whose father is Ita’s uncle), mother Tamara, brother and sister, who all fortunately escaped with non-life threatening injuries.

The 17-year-old driver of the other vehicle remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The Studio 10 host has spoken of her grief following the horrific accident.

“We are all deeply distressed about Oscar's death,” Ita told The Daily Telegraph.

Thoughts go out to Ita and her family at this time.
