Dog Dies After Being Left In Hot Car In Perth

One dog has died and two others are recovering after two separate incidents of dogs being left in hot cars in Perth.

The RSPCA says the incidents happened in Balga and Cloverdale on Wednesday.

With the Balga incident, The Daily Mail reported that several people banded together to rescue a mastiff-breed dog after it was noticed it was stuck inside a Holden Astra with the windows wound up.

Temperatures topped 26 degrees in Perth on Wednesday, which could easily be even higher inside a vehicle.

Local woman Amy Middleton, who documented the unfolding situation on Facebook, explained that "once the photos were taken we tried opening the car and the doors were luckily unlocked", so the dog was able to be removed and carried to a shady area.

A vet nurse happened to be driving by the incident pulled over and attempted CPR on the dog, which was unsuccessful.

Ms Middleton said the dog's owner returned and 'lied and blamed everything around him instead of stepping up and taking responsibility of an irresponsible, absolutely disgusting decision he made all by himself'.

An investigation is underway.
