Dreamworld's 'Thunder River Rapids' Ride Will NEVER Re-Open

The Thunder River Rapids ride at Dreamworld will never re-open.

It has been reported on Channel Nine’s Today show that the ride has been decommissioned by Dreamworld and will be dismantled shortly.

A statement from Dreamworld says ‘’out of respect for the memories of Cindy Low, Roozbeh Araghi, Kate Goodchild and Luke Dorsett, and their deeply affected families; the ride will permanently decommissioned.’

‘’The closure of the ride is the only respectful and appropriate course of action.''

Two weeks ago, four people lost their lives in a devastating incident that caused a boat to flip.

At the moment it is not known if a new ride will take the place of the ride, but it is likely the park will re-open shortly, with the ride closed off to the public.

Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate has said that the park will not re-open until the families of the victims are comfortable with the public returning to the park.
