Driver Has Cardiac Arrest On Qld Highway
A passenger took control of a car after the driver suffered a cardiac arrest on a Gold Coast highway.
Paramedics say the woman in her 50s collapsed behind the wheel on the Pacific Motorway at Oxenford about 7.25pm on Tuesday.
Her passenger successfully steered the car across three lanes of traffic to a stop on the side of the road.
The passenger started CPR, with the aid of an ambulance service worker on the phone, before the patient's heart rhythm returned and she was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.
